About: Jake Conroy has been an activist since 1995, organizing and participating in successful local, regional, national and international pressure campaigns. He helped build the foundation of the grassroots campaign SHAC USA, and was arrested by the US government for his role. Dubbed the SHAC7, Jake and his codefendants were found guilty and he was sentenced to 4 years in federal prison.
Presentation — Making Animal Rights Radical Again
We often chant "what do we want? Animal liberation!" but the question is, how? Is it through the mass production of plant-based foods by animal ag and fighting for bigger cages? Or is it a return to a radical philosophy of liberation for all? By looking at our movement's history, wins and losses, we can begin to recreate a movement rooted in liberation, and success.
