Workshop — Theatre as Direct Action: A Creative Workshop on Performance Activism

This workshop explores how theatre and performance can function as forms of direct action in the struggle for animal liberation. Through participatory exercises, discussion, and reflection, we will examine how embodied performance practices—such as protest theatre, witnessing, and ritual—can challenge dominant narratives, cultivate empathy, and create space for resistance. Drawing on examples from performance activism and the facilitator’s own creative practice, participants will be invited to experiment with performance as a political tool. No theatre experience is required—just a willingness to move, reflect, and imagine.
