About: Animal rights activist currently studying biology. I am a self-taught photographer doing mainly wildlife photography, but branched into animal photojournalism 2,5 years ago. I try to create images that convey the perspective of non-human animals living in the anthropocene and show the complexities of our relationships with and attitudes towards animals.

Workshop — Photography 101: The fundamentals of visual storytelling

This workshop aims to teach participants the basics of photography, focusing on three main elements: basic camera settings (shutter speed, aperture, and ISO), composition, and editing. Using examples from both investigative and wildlife photography, participants are invited to discuss these concepts and reflect on how they can be used to tell the stories of non-human animals through compelling and impactful imagery. The workshop will focus on camera photography but will include elements that are also useful for phone photography. People who are interested in joining the workshop can send me some of their own photos (animalscaptured@protonmail.com) and I will pick out some for discussion and critique.
